A cupola is barn topper - a tower or dome-like feature projecting from the top of a barn roof. At Pleasant Pasture we have an entire Cupola Collection - 12 in all!
They are the silent sentinels that guard our animal residents.
The the function, beauty and enormous size of these structures is awe inspiring.
Cupolas:
Provide venting for heat and gases to pass through the barn room to prevent spontaneous combustion
Serve as lightening rods, often with grounding wires
Are often topped with a finial or weathervane
Stand between 6 and 14 feet tall
